Our client, a leading international Mining Group is looking for an experienced and qualified Community Engagement and Development Unit Manager at their Corporate Offices near Westonaria.

Summary:
The role of a Unit Manager Community Engagement and Development is to develop and implement an appropriate Social Labour Plan and strategic social development programmes.

The appointee should:
Be in possession of a tertiary qualification in Social Sciences
Display leadership skills and possess Project Management skills
Have a track record in managing processes related to Social Labour Plan and Corporate Social Investment
Have extensive knowledge of stakeholder management
Be an assertive goal-orientated self-starter with good interpersonal and organisational skills and the ability to pay attention to detail
Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Be stress tolerant and prepared to work extended hours
Be declared medically fit to function in the position and environment, as determined by a risk based medical examination at a relevant Sibanye-Stillwater Occupational Centre

Advantageous requirements:
Master’s degree in Environment/Business Administration/Development

Key responsibilities include:
Engagement with all key stakeholders in line with the Group strategy
Develop and implement an appropriate Social Labour Plan and strategic social development programmes
Ensures regulatory compliance in line with the short, medium and long-term objectives of the business unit and ensures that they are aligned with the business objectives of the Group
Conceptualises and co-ordinates the implementation of appropriate strategic responses to socio-economic conditions of the operating environment in collaboration with relevant stakeholders
Scans the operating environment on a continuous basis to identify strategic social risks and opportunities in advance and advises Senior and Executive management accordingly
Keeps abreast of innovations, trends and opportunities in social environment by interacting with relevant Stakeholders, including Local Government Departments, Community
Implements a comprehensive audit programme to determine the degree of compliance or non-compliance between current best practices and the expectations of the Group as well as other applicable requirements
Performs any other activities necessary for the effective completion of his/her work
