Our client, a leading international Mining Group is looking for an experienced and qualified Unit Manager Mining for their Gold Segment near Westonaria.

Summary:
The role of a Unit Manager Mining is managing the Underground Operations Unit teams, safely, efficiently and cost effectively to meet both short and long tern production objectives.

The appointee should:
Be in possession of a Degree or Diploma in Mining Engineering
Have a Mine Managers Certificate of Competency
Have At least 5 years’ experience at a management level or experience in a functional/specialist area
Strong managerial skills with the ability to lead and motivate the production team;
Be computer literate in MS Office
Be a self-starter, motivated and be results orientated
Exhibit good oral and written communication skills
Be declared medically fit to function in the position and environment, as determined by a risk based medical examination at a relevant Sibanye-Stillwater Occupational Health Centre.

Advantageous requirements:
Have undergone a Middle / Executive Managerial Leadership Programme

Key responsibilities include:
Driving a culture of Safety ownership with a strong emphasis on behaviour based safety
Managing the Underground Operations Unit teams, safely, efficiently and cost effectively to meet both short and long tern production objectives
Keeping up to date with latest Mining systems, processes and best practices and make suitable recommendations
Analysing and interpreting Mining data and reports and takes corrective action as required
Providing effective problem solving support to the Mining teams
Ensuring that all necessary Mining resources, (personnel, equipment and materials) are available as required
