Sovereign Foods is seeking to employ a suitably qualified and skilled candidate as Vehicle Mechanic at the Agriculture Division, based at the Uitenhage operations. The temporary Vehicle Mechanic will adhere to and maintain the preventative maintenance schedule and respond to breakdowns in a timeous manner. This is a 4 month assignment.

A Diesel Mechanic trade test qualification is required, with at least 2 years’ mechanical and hydraulics experience, as well as a Code 10 Drivers ‘License. This position will report to the Senior Production Manager: Farm Services.

Results Required
• Adhere to the preventative maintenance plan for:
o Generators
o Tractors
o Yellow Metal
o Company vehicles
• Respond to breakdowns in a timeous manner and ensure communication is given to your Supervisor immediately
• Drive to ensure zero downtime
• Meet legislated health and safety standards (working on heights, safety equipment, clothing etc.)
• Enforce and adhere to LOTTO procedures
• Enforce the highest level of Biological Risk Controls
