ANTARCTIC OPERATIONS COORDINATOR BASED IN CAPE TOWN

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

The role:
• Reports to the Antarctic Operations Manager
• Supports with scheduling and implementing of all operational activities which includes:
o Resource and assets management
o People management (on-ice crew on site)
o Scheduling and optimising efficiency of the above.
• Takes ownership of maintenance, improvements and renewals of operations assets
• Collects data from specialists in each asset category, analyses and prepares plans/budgets for maintenance, improvements and renewals.

OUTSIDE SEASON:
• Based in office in Cape Town

IN SEASON (Oct-Feb):
• Based in Cape Town and Antarctica

The person:
• Engineering qualification (NDip or Degree)
• 3+ years' relevant working experience with background in Construction/ Engineering environment
• Assets management experience including dealing with international suppliers and cargo/ equipment movement is a must
• Computer literate in MS Office, with and confident with MS Excel
• Detail orientated and organised
• Confident in decision making
• Good communication and planning skills
• Willing to go above and beyond what is asked and work unsociable hours when needed (in season)
• Able to adapt to sudden changes to plans, and working under pressure
• Adventurous (likely to work in Antarctica for parts of the season)
• Keen to learn and develop new skills
