JOB DESCRIPTION
ACCOUNTS CLERK/BOOKKEEPER (Glenhazel)
The Accounting Clerk performs a range of general clerical, accounting and bookkeeping support functions in an organization.
General Accounting Support Tasks
• Verifying the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records.
• Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business
transactions (e.g., disbursements, expense vouchers, receipts, accounts payable).
• Enters data into computer system using QuickBooks software.
• Compile data and prepare a variety of reports.
• Reconciles records with internal company employees and management, or external vendors or customers.
• Recommends actions to resolve discrepancies.
• Investigates questionable data.
Responsibilities
• Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department
• Type accurately, prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
• Capture and reconcile 3 x Cashbooks
• General ledger postings and statements
• Reconcile accounts in a timely manner
• Daily enter key data of financial transactions in database
• Provide assistance and support to company personnel
• Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
• Constantly update job knowledge
Requirements
• Proven accounting experience,
• Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures
• Competency in MS Office, databases and QuickBooks Financial software
• Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Aptitude for numbers
• Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks
• Data entry and word processing skills
• Well organized
• Own Transport

Qualifications
• Bookkeeping to Trial Balance Diploma
• Competency in QuickBooks, Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.

• Requires 5 years’ experience
Salary R12K ctc
