Account Manager - Cape Town

RS Recruitment Services is assisting a highly successful company in the Packaging & Printing industry,
to recruit an Account Manager in Cape Town.

Purpose of the position: The position involves managing the current customer base by maintaining good relationships with existing and potential customers. The account manager is also required to ensure that service, sales, working capital and margins are managed optimally, with a view to increasing market share and profitability within the Western Cape region.

Applicants should have/be the following:
Matriculation Certificate
Tertiary qualification in Sales or Marketing or Business Management
Proven sales experience within printing and packaging manufacturing environment (experience in flexible packaging is an added advantage)
Minimum 5 years working experience with large corporate/multi- national customer base
Project Management Skills
Budget and Resource Management Skills
Excellent negotiating skills
ERP experience and good understanding of processes (Orders, Planning, Stock Control and Deliveries)
Intermediate to Advanced computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Outlook)
Excellent English communication and written skills
Self-starter who is able to work with minimal management input
Willing to work outside normal hours and at short notice, if required
Willing to travel
Charismatic personality, goal orientated and performance driven
Innovative and achievement focused

Responsibilities include:
Grow current business within allocated client base and exceed customer expectations on all levels.
The optimization of debtors to reduce debtors’ days and manage working capital.
The efficient management of stock and orders to ensure that working capital is kept within targeted levels.
Grow new business within the flexible packaging market, with key focus on our Pouch business.
Identify new business opportunities and build relationships and a strong sales pipeline with potential customers.
Maintain accurate and substantial customer database.
Accurately forecast customer activities and associated revenue.
Measure sales, margins, expenses and sales projection in line with budget.
Monitor, analyse and report on performance against set and agreed objectives.
Facilitate negotiations, sign and conclude sales contracts.
Liaise with planning and the plant in Cape Town -Pouch Dynamics to ensure timeous delivery of products to customers.
Custodian of customer service excellence on all levels.

Remuneration:
The salary would be determined by the successful person’s qualification & experience but in the range R35k to R50k
