Accountant - full maintenance rentals

Company Overview:

This Financial Services company is a reputable organization specializing in full maintenance rentals of company owned assets. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Accountant to manage the full accounting functions of our growing company including the daily supervision and management of the Accounts Administrator to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cash Book Reconciliations:
o Maintain accurate cash books for all company bank accounts.
o Manage the companies BRCP facility.
o Setup all payments for MD release.
o Reconcile bank statements and ensure proper documentation of transactions.
KPI: Maintain a cash book reconciliation accuracy rate of at least 99%.

• Debtors Invoicing and Control:

o Manage the full Debtors Control, including rental invoicing, receipting, and reconciling.
o Setup the mid and end month debit order run timeously.
o Manage the collection of all outstanding rentals including the return debits.
o Manage accounts receivable ensuring timely payments and targets.
KPI: Maintain debtor balances within 60 days target of 95% of total receipts due.

• Suppliers Capturing and Control:

o Manage the full Supplier Control, including purchase orders, supplier bills, and payments.
o Manage and reconcile all employees’ expense accounts.
o Ensure accuracy in supplier invoices and payments.
o Manage the Company Payroll and timeous monthly payments to employees.
o Manage the Shareholders and Investor contribution ledger and balances and calculate and update their monthly interest earnings accordingly.
o Manage, compile, submit and pay over all SARS Vat201 statutory returns before due date deadlines.
o Manage, compile, submit and pay over all Statutory PAYE, UIF, SDL and Workman’s Compensation monthly before deadline.
o Manage and pay over all monthly medical aid and pension contributions for the company employees.
KPI: Ensure capturing, reconciliation and payments conform to an accuracy rate of at least 100%.

• Asset Management and Tracking:

o Manage the allocation of all company assets on rental.
o Capture all new company assets purchased.
o Manage the monthly depreciation of all assets.
o Manage the complete asset register including write offs.
o Manage the servicing of all assets.
KPI: Ensure timely and accurate processes and asset register.

• Rental Book (Annuity Billing):

o Maintain the current rental book according to its categories.
o Maintain the monthly rental book depreciation.
o Capture new rentals and terminated rentals.
o Conduct regular rental book analysis and reconcile all discrepancies.
o Compile a monthly rental book analysis for reporting.
KPI: Maintain a rental book accuracy rate of at least 99%.

Financial Reporting:

o Prepare and submit a weekly cash flow forecast for the company.
o Compile and present a company monthly financial report, including Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Asset Register and Rental Book to management.
o Review and report on all Debtor outstandings and dishonoured debit orders weekly.
KPI: Timely and accurate submission of weekly cash flow forecasts, weekly Debtors problems, and monthly financial reports.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field a must.
• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., SAIPA, CIMA, SAIBA, CPA, ACCA) is preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a management and similar role.
• Proficiency in online Sage and Evolution accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

• Remuneration:

o This Financial Services company offers a competitive market-related salary package commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience.
o Approximately R600k CTC per annum neg.
o 13th cheque dependant on performance of company.
