Accounting practice based in Sandton is looking for an Accountant

Accountant with experience gained in Accounting and Tax is required by an Accounting Firm based in Sandton
Salary offer – Dependent on experience and skills

Requirements:
Minimum level of education: B.Com degree
5+ years’ working experience within an accounting practice.
Fully computer literate with emphasis on MS Outlook, Excel, Word, Sage One, Draftworx (compulsory) and SARS E-filing
Own vehicle with valid Driver’s Licence and willing to travel when required
Must be based on or within the immediate surrounds of Sandton
Inquiring, analytical mind with the ability to solve problems
Good working knowledge of accounting and able to keep up to date with current financial rules and
regulations
Strong interpersonal skills
Time-management skills
Able to work independently with minimal supervision
Be self-motivated with a ‘can do’ attitude

Duties (including but not limited to):
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual statements by collecting data
Processing of cash book receipts and payments
Ensuring accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses
Prepares monthly general ledger recons and ensures monthly creditors recons are done and all queries are resolved timeously
Liaise with Directors, clients and auditors
Salaries for clients
Preparation of Annual Financial Statements in line with Companies Act and IFRS on Draftworx
Preparation of Financial Statement working papers
Prepare tax returns (Income Tax and VAT) on E-filing (VAT201, EMP201, EMP501,
Client meetings
Assistance and guidance to junior staff
