Our client in Freight / Shipping / Transport / Import / Export is looking to secure the permanent services of an experienced Accountant to join the Finance Department to produce and analyse accurate financial reports, effectively manage the team, and provide the necessary expertise required to deliver effective management reporting for the organisation

Responsibilities:

Management accounting – GL transactions, monthly Balance sheet reconciliations etc., authorisation of journal entries etc.
Ensure accurate accrual of payroll costs and calculation of leave provision and ensure correct payroll costing
Ensure accurate and timeous completion of the full month-end procedures - e.g. Month end journal completion, analytical review and preparation of the income statement, balance sheet reconciliations, asset preparation etc.
Consolidation of monthly reports
Effective Leadership and Management - Manage finance personnel and ensure that they demonstrate competency, increasing delivery capacity and motivation
Ensure vendor compliance with all requirements
Ensure compliance to relevant legislation with regrades to statutory requirements
Manage SARS reconciliation and payments
Requirements:

Grade 12.
B Com Degree in Financial Accounting
5- 10 years’ experience in a finance sector, with at least 3 years Management experience
Solid knowledge of Finance and its processes is essential, as is solid financial reporting experience
Experience on SAP is a requirement
Demonstrate understanding of all facets of business operations and interactions, a sound working knowledge of financial management, numeracy and attention to detail
