Responsibilities:
• Provide technical assistance and support to the Group wide Risk Appetite and Economic Capital modelling function
• To participate in and provide support to the Group wide capital modelling activities.
• To assist in identifying, reviewing and performing stress and scenario testing
• To assist with the preparation and review of ORSA submissions for Group and solo entities:
• To provide support to the Head of Quants and Capital Modelling, the Quants and Capital Modelling Actuary, the Chief Risk Officer and the Statutory Actuary as directed in order for them to fulfil their functions.
• To contribute as required to the Group’s full compliance with the requirements of SAM and international equivalents
• Perform ad hoc qualitative and quantitative work relating to Group Risk management and capital management.

Key Performance Measures:
• Work is conducted on time, accurately, with minimum rework and hands on guidance from Manager
• Evidence of genuine thought leadership and implementation of improvements in own work
• Meaningful contribution to the technical work of the department, including development and ongoing operation of appropriate Risk Appetite and Economic Capital models, Group capital models, and ORSA inputs
• Timely assessment of Risk Appetite metrics for all relevant business units and for the Group at an aggregated level
• Production of regular and ad hoc analyses and reports relating to the Group wide and business unit position against agreed limits and thresholds
• Support of the Statutory Actuary in executing his duties as required
• Contribution to fulfilment of the Group’s requirements under SAM
• Effective contribution to the GRM Quantitative team
• Timely production of all required reports to the relevant risk governance structures within the organisation

The successful candidate must demonstrate the following skills and abilities:
• Able to use technical and business knowledge to understand the risks inherent across all the departments within the company
• Able to comprehend, challenge, analyse and develop complex actuarial models to perform Risk Appetitive, Economic Capital and wider capital management calculations. Interpret, rationalise and communicate the results of own work
• Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively with business at all levels, both in writing and verbally
• A good technical grounding in the concepts of long and short term insurance business reserving, capital requirements and business projections
• Delivery focussed, practical and pragmatic where necessary. Sound judgement of material and immaterial issues in relation to own work. Delivers work required on time and to a high standard with minimal rework
• Good team player, able to work with other team members to deliver the objectives of the team
