Makro is searching for an Advertising Traffic Manager that is HUNGRY, HUMBLE, ENGAGED, AND SMART AND FOLLOWS THROUGH.

Main Purpose of the job: To provide input into the IT strategy process and ensure that IT applications applied in the environment and meets business strategic objectives

Key performance areas

Traffic Function
Read Daily Status and follow up on team twice a day
Ensure that the Team follows the Advertising Process
Ensure current or new buyers are familiar with the marketing process – Training is ongoing when new buyers start Weekly Feedback to DK – on what promotions are due for review
Assist with all queries from Stores, Merchants, Suppliers (Repro and Printers) Manage workflow and monitor Jobs

Production Function
Print out Production schedules, DTP schedules, coordinator point schedules every week Assist in loading jobs into Media Manager when necessary
Supply Critical Date Path to buyers
Advise Hirt and Carter on jobs going to repro every week Update the Process Document when required
Escalate any Media Manager, SAP or technical issue to Advertising Executive/IT Send out the buyers schedule to buyers monthly to keep them updated
Follow up with buyers on upcoming and specialised jobs

Maintain leave records Enable Business Performance
Discuss and sign off leave forms and plan annual leave in December
Obtain all sick notes and Coordinator to attach to leave form
Advise Advertising Executive when leave has run out

Recruitment and Selection Enable Business Performance
Distribute all internal bulletins to all stores, Head Office, DC, MLS and Fruit Spot
Ensure that internal adverts are drawn up and placed in the group bulletin
Collate responses, screen applicants, set up interviews and sit in with HRM and Line Manager when required
Conduct references and risk checks where required
Send out regret letters to all unsuccessful candidates within a week after interviews
Compile vacancy report as required

People Management

Induction of new employees:
Ensure Induction is completed within stipulated time frame
Ensure that all new staff undergo orientation

Employment equity targets:
Ensure achievement of initiatives in support of store equity plan when recruiting for the department

Performance Management:
Signed role clarity in place for all employees
Performance contract in place for all
Complete regular performance evaluations
Signed PDD’s in place for all employees
Maintain appropriate level of discipline
Take appropriate disciplinary action
Conduct monthly score card and one on one discussions with all staff
Manage staff adherence to working schedule
Complete regular PDR’s to improve staff morale
Ensure staff is cross –skilled to ensure continuity of all functions
Energy level improvement
Manage time keeping and working hours
Effective planning for weekends and festive season trading
Manage Team Delivery based on performance plans

Staff development and succession:
Ensure that the % is achieved for training and development plans
Ensure that a succession plan is in place for individual departments
Ensure Development plan is in place for all individuals
Ensure % staff that have completed mandatory CBTs are recorded
Ensure % staff that have completed functional CBTs are recorded
Ensure Signed Role Clarity document is in place for each staff member
Ensure that there is a Performance Contract for all levelled managers

Minimum Academic Requirements, Professional Qualifications, and Experience:
Matric
Marketing/Advertising Diploma
Management Experience in Advertising Industry
2-3 years’ experience
