This Private Retirement Home situated in the heart of Cape Town is seeking Registered Nurses with aged care experience to join their 20+ bedded dementia care facility.

Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure that Resident/Patient individual medication is always available in liaison with Doctors and Pharmacies
• Ensure that prescribed medication is administered correctly and timeously and within the guidelines of the Nursing Scope of Practice
• Promote sound relationships within the staff teams
• Timeously and proactively address any staff performance or conduct issues, through effective motivation/counselling/record keeping and discipline
• Daily recording of the application of each individual patient/resident nursing care plan
• Recording of doctor’s instructions

Requirements:
• SANC Registered Nurse
• At least 4 years or more geriatric experience
• Dementia care experience (understand the disease and treatment of challenging behaviour) would definitely be to their advantage
• Pride in her work thus rendering high standard of care and attention to detail
• Good leadership skills, able to manage her staff/team, apply discipline, assertive
• Good communication skills (read, write/type and speak) to liaise with families and multi-disciplinary team
• Computer literate
• Able to work under pressure and part of a team
• Perform all nursing duties as per her Scope of Practice and company policies and procedures
