Opportunity exists for an Analyst Developer in the financial services industry, based in Cape Town (Northern Suburbs) – 12 month contract
Salary = R 500 – R520 per annum

Requirements:
• A relevant B-degree/diploma in Information Technology or National diploma in IT or Data Metrics
• Minimum of eight years relevant IT experience
• Expertise in one or more of the relevant programming languages (Java, C#, .Net, C, C++, Delphi)
• Preference will be given to candidates who have strong Java and C# experience
• Expertise in some or all of the environments we work in, viz Window, Microsoft's .Net Framework,
Weblogic, JDK, UDB, ASP.NET, XML, XSD, SOA, SQL Server
• Proven track record in rapidly assimilating systems knowledge, and becoming productive in a new
environment quickly
• Must have knowledge of technical architecture and design patterns
• Background in life insurance new business would be a recommendation
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Be able to work accurately under pressure
• Strong problem solving capability
• Self-motivated with initiative and ability to work without supervision

Job Description:

• Rapidly assimilating system technicalities and functionality, so as to make an effective contribution to maintenance and development;
• Analysing environment / user problems to assist with keeping the environment stable;
• Studying the technical or program specifications to gain an in-depth understanding of the applications;
• Designing the program logic to meet the functional requirements as specified and deciding on the best coding techniques to ensure optimum program performance;
• Creating computer programs to make the computer perform the operations detailed in the specifications, whilst adhering to existing programming standards;
• Creating program documentation;
• Integrating the developed programs with other programs to form deliverable functions;
• Testing and debugging each program thoroughly in accordance with a test plan for the system. Arranging for integrated testing of programs;
• Actively assisting with the development of effective team cultures;
• Analysis of system problems and minor system changes
• Other tasks as directed from time to time
