Qualification
• A minimum of three (3) years' experience working as application Architect
• Qualification I Certification (certified copies to be provided).
• TOGAF certification
• Local Government experience will be advantageous.

Scope of Service

• Co-ordinate and manage the analysis of business needs, user requirements, objectives and goals for approved organization and ICT programmes/projects within the agreed frameworks.
• Provide strategic direction for the organization application landscape.
• Provide blueprints for most effective target application architecture that supports the organization strategic goal
• Ensure that enterprise software application standards are reviewed in terms of development platforms, development tools and development languages.
• Guide, review and recommend application architecture design and system integration.
• Ensure application are enforced and monitored.
• Quality assures application projects before implementation.
• Manage and co-ordinate the up keep of the organization application catalogue.
• Develop and review application costing models and spending trends.
• Ensure that the appropriate strategies and policies are in place and provide the necessary expertise to the Policy and Strategy Unit where strategies and policies are deemed missing.
• Ensure that the strategies and policies are implemented and adhered to.
• Develop and maintain organization Enterprise Architecture frameworks and standards.
• Contribute, promote and ensure adherence to lCT frameworks, processes and best practice.
• Analyse and ensure alignment to ICT frameworks and standards
• Provide input into the ICT and implementation Plans
• Provide input to ICT Medium Term Expenditure Committee for budgeting next 3 year financial cycle.
• Coordinate the ICT planning audit requirements.
• Request audits on business systems, as well as review audit findings.
• Actively contribute expertise to the project team in all areas of application Architecture.
• Participate in the ICT solutions procurement processes
• Contribute to system designs, test plans, training of users and implementation plans of applications from an application architectural perspective.
• Co-ordinate the process of post implementation of business systems and impact evaluations.
• Manages and maintain the application artefacts in the enterprise architecture repository.
• Recommend appropriate courses of action to developers/technicians and management on application and infrastructure issues.
• Define the system, technical, and application architectures, and in some instances, the business architecture for major areas of development
• Define technical standards and methods for application, performance, and quality engineering
• Serve as a group member on the internal enterprise architecture boards.
