Shifa Private Hospital is looking to employ for a Architectural Technologist to work permanent.

Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Serves as a Technician/Technologist within the architecture field, reports to architects, practice leader and Shifa Hospital manager/coordinator.

+ Applies learnt Healthcare knowledge of standard/Shifa Hospital practices, techniques and procedures.

+ Assists in the development of alternate solutions and design options in support of project Healthcare team.

+ Communicates and collaborates with the full multi-disciplinary Healthcare design team and others.

+ Assists in the development of work products such as specifications, drawings, specifications and illustrative graphics in the architecture practice area.

+ Supports design architects and associates.

+ Performs local authority interface and administration.

+ Compliance with all Shifa Hospital internal policies, procedures and standards.

Minimum Requirements

+ 2-5 years of experience is preferable

+ REVIT intermediate and advanced level candidates required (will be subject to a test)

+ Graphics ability: 3D render/graphics package ability (SketchUP, CorelDraw, PhotoShop, etc.) preferable.

+ Knowledge of Microsoft OFFICE, EXCEL, OUTLOOK, etc. preferable

+ AutoDESK registered professional status preferable

+ Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse complex systems and content.

+ Practice Technologies: Understanding of how to apply existing and emerging technical tools and processes to support design.

+ Sustainable Design: Ability to reduce the use of non-renewable resources, minimise waste and create healthy environments.

+ Construction Principles: Ability to understand and apply construction principles to design work.

+ Problem Solving: Ability to identify problems and opportunities and analyse information to develop, evaluate and implement solutions.

+ Project Management: Ability to maximise resources and use schedules for the planning and reporting of progress within the project environment.

+ Regulation: Thorough knowledge of National Building Regulations, SANS 10400 + SANS 10400XA, local authority procedures

+ Preferred work experience: Preference given for candidates experienced in Industrial/Manufacturing and infrastructure work.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor of Architectural Studies in Architecture or National Diploma in Architecture.
