A well-established clothing manufacturer in Cape Town is currently looking to employ a Design Artist.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• To work with your designer to supply a product & service to our client, Woolworths.
• To create artworks from briefs given by Woolworths.
• To create CADS from various sources (eg. overseas samples, images from the net)
• To work closely with the buyers and artists of Woolworths on provided briefs.
• To handle artworks from concept stage through till production (artworks created by you and those from the Woolworth artists)
• To create and update Techpacks. Techpacks must be done accurately according to merchandiser’s finalised worksheets.
• To position artworks onto pattern pieces. It is the artist’s duty to report any issues they may encounter at this stage to the designer.
• To send the finalised and approved artwork to the printers. It is the artist’s duty to ensure that the artwork given to the printers is up to date and meets the printing standards.
• To go on regularly scheduled store visits (to have an awareness of what the competitors are doing and what current trends are.
• To produce any other graphic work the company might need besides clothing.

REQUIREMENTS & ATTRIBUTES:
• Creative personality
• Efficient in design software
• Shows significant initiative

REMUNERATION:
R11,000 – R13,000 pm CTC, depending on experience.
