Our client (Wellington Wines) currently has a career opportunity available for a young qualified Assistant Winemaker to join their production team. The incumbent will report to the Production Manager.

Responsibilities:

• harvest and production of quality wines
• purchasing of chemicals and other relevant production stock
• quality control
• stock control
• maintenance and housekeeping
• wine samples and -administration
• personnel management
• wine tasting and external liaison

The ideal candidate has:

• a formal qualification (degree or diploma) in Viticulture and Oenology
• previous harvest experience (recommended)
• technical knowledge of cellar machinery
• computer skills (WineMS recommendation)
• knowledge of different quality control systems (IPW, BRC, HACCP)
• excellent interpersonal communication skills
• practical leadership and management skills
• detail oriented, result driven and conscientious personality
