Qualified Attorney (non-negotiable)

Qualified Attorney

Post Graduate qualification in tax or working towards same

Strong Legal interpretational skills

Proven research capability

Proven Legal drafting ability

Strong numeracy skills

Substantial VAT experience in VAT Consulting

Avid reader with an interest in the economy and politics

Entrepreneurial flair with an eye for anomalies in the application of the Law when comparing different industries or sectors and/or different tax types and/or the application of the same rules in different VAT jurisdictions globally

Strong communication skills

A sense of humour

Job Description:

Interpretation of technical VAT aspects

Preparation of opinions on technical VAT aspects

Critically consider the VAT treatment of complex transactions in industry

Writing considered opinions on the VAT implications of matters considered by SARS for income purposes only

Critically research and compare international jurisprudence and commentary

Drafting ruling applications to SARS and Legal Briefs to counsel
