BI Analyst
Location - Sandton, Johannebsurg
R50 000 per month
 
Job Purpose:
To enable the business analysis and understanding of data and information on a daily and monthly basis; ensuring consistency in definitions and usage of data; provision of information on an ad-hoc, routine and projects needs basis.

Key Performance Areas:

1. Effective stakeholder collaboration, engagement and project consulting - Consult with clients to understand their (current and future) MI needs and discuss possible solutions; management of query resolution; drive adoption and facilitation of best practice; drive, motivate and educate around single source of data and automated solutions.
2. Data Extraction and Validation - Extract data from systems utilizing query tools to answer adhoc data requirements and monthly data distribution. In depth interrogation of data extracted from a business rule application, provide data to the business in an understandable format. Proactively communicate findings to the relevant stakeholders and highlight shortfalls (if any) and actions required to address.
3. Sourcing and Collating - Building of data into databases when the required data is not yet available in the Data Warehouse, by collating data from various sources.
4. Report Generation and Creation - Run daily, weekly and monthly reports timeously, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of reports generated. Document requirements as regards the creation of reports; Develop reports in SSRS, facilitate UAT and participate in deployment. Ensure that all changes are documented and that all documentation is kept up to date and stored in central document repositories. Communicate to the business regarding any changes on the reporting.
5. Cube development – Develop and maintain OLAP cubes.  Create online dashboards for the Business. Train the business on how to use the dashboards to enable them to make better decisions.

Essential Qualifications:

• Matric (Grade 12)
• IT related B Degree

Preferred Qualifications:

• B Degree - Informatics; Information Systems; Computer Science

 
Job Related Experience:

• Minimum 2 years in using SSIS, SSRS and SSAS
