Business Analyst (BI & Systems)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Focus on Business Systems/Processes and Business Intelligence doing the following…
• Elicit, document and maintain detailed business requirements and functional specifications for System and business Processes
• Translate business requirements into specifications and acceptable business solutions by interpreting/facilitating the delivery of the business need, doing business analysis and solution design, supporting project management/co-coordinating tasks and then managing/facilitating delivery of the solution
• Develop effective strategies that manage and expand the use of Management Information and Business Intelligence. Gather requirements and deliver the best solutions. Promote cutting edge design principles and oversee BI design, development and testing throughout the full BI lifecycle
• Investigate system bugs, issues and requests to identify possible solutions to eliminate reoccurrence
• Participate in QA/UAT
• Support the project management, development and testing processes with respect to provision, deployment and implementation of solutions. Work collaboratively as part of the Business Solutions MIS/Database/PM team when appropriate
• Regularly evaluate processes and systems making recommendations for optimisation facilitating continuous business improvements.
• Stay current on industry practices and issues, assessing and communicating their potential impact on the business
• Ensure that company standards are followed in requirements documentation
• Comply with all corporate and departmental policies/procedures and applicable governmental regulations
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned, which may include cross-utilization within the department or with other departments

Minimum Requirements:
1. Qualifications & Experience
• Matric
• Diploma/Degree/Certification or relevant business related tertiary qualification related to Business Analysis
• At least 3 years of experience as business analyst.
• At least 1 years’ experience in Business Process Analysis, delivery of BI initiatives and Systems Analysis.
• Experience in the insurance Industry is required
• Skill with relational databases and MS SQL is highly desirable
• Above average skill with Microsoft Visio (ARIS?).
• Above average Microsoft Office skills Word, Excel and SharePoint
• Project Management experience will be advantageous
• Knowledge of BI concepts, architectures and tools
• Knowledge of data analysis including data profiling and dimensional modelling will be advantageous
• Knowledge of ETL concepts and software will be advantageous
• Knowledge of in-house systems will be advantageous
• Knowledge and experience in SDLC
