BI Developer – Gauteng
Salary: R40-60K dep on experience

Purpose: Responsible for the performance, integrity and security of a BI environment. Develops BI solutions for internal and external customers. Position is based in Boksburg, but may require travel throughout Gauteng.

Minimum Requirements:
• Matric
• Bachelors Degree IT / equivalent
• 3+ Years Qlikview Basic experience in C#.
• Extensive SQL query and update knowledge.
• Must have the ability to present BI solutions
• 3+ years of database design or integration experience with SQL Server databases
• Minimum 10 years IT experience in development and BI

Key Accountabilities
BI Development and support
• Promote the use of Business Intelligence (BI) tools and concepts across the organisation
• Work with user community to understand business process challenges and identify solution opportunities within Business Intelligence area.
• Provide support and expertise to the user community within the Client to assist them to better utilise Business Intelligence
• Translate project requirements into functional and non-functional specifications for BI reports and applications.
• Design and implement reporting applications including BI dashboards, reporting cubes and static reports.
• Develops BI portals for customers and Internal use and ensures production rollout of the models
• Conducts training for customers on the BI solution on a regular basis
• Develops and optimises SQL queries and ensures optimal performance
• Improve and streamline processes regarding data flow and data quality to improve data accuracy, viability and value

Analysis & Communication
• Data gathering, research and analytical abilities so as to develop insightful conclusions and generate solutions to address user needs
• Direct quality assurance and user acceptance testing by writing test plans and managing the execution of testing (Unit and UAT)
• Overseeing the ongoing development and operations of a business intelligence architecture that enables fact-based decision making and adhoc analysis and insight generation.
• Contribute to and support the organisation’s Business Intelligence strategy
• Staying current with industry trends.
• Advising and educating management on their relative importance and impact
