JOB SPEC– Bookkeeper / Accountant

NOTE - THIS POSITION IS IN PAARL, CAPE TOWN 

Salary Offered: 

Must Speak Afrikaans and English

Basic Function: 

My client requires a bookkeeper.  Full bookkeeping function including processing books of original entry, preparing trial balances and drafting financial statements.

Principal Functions:

1. Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
2. Maintain charts of account
3. Payroll processing
4. Submission of monthly statutory returns
5. Processing books of original entry from source documents
6. Preparation of trial balances
7. Drafting of financial statements
8. Prepare working paper files in support of annual financial statements

Qualifications: The candidate should either have a degree in accounting, or have experience in a similar environment. Preference will be given to candidates with a working knowledge of the Pastel accounting software packages.
