Our client, a leading national distributor of steel and allied products are looking for a professional Business Manager with at least 10 years’ recent experience in the steel merchanting market sector to manage their Steel & Tube branch, based in Kimberley.

The ideal Candidate will be totally responsible and accountable for all facets of the business and the achievement of the budget numbers in terms of sales, gross profit, opex, pbt, stock and debtors.

Duties:

• Responsible & accountable for the branch.
• Achievement of budget number and returns.
• Management of staff.
• Asset management – stock, debtors, fixed and movable assets.
• Grow sales and gross profit through effective strategic planning.
• Implementation of all group policies and procedures and operating within delegated limits of authority.


Requirements:

• Professional business management with above average sales and numerical skills.
• Relevant degree/diploma in Logistics
• Must be fully computer literate including SYSPRO
• Determined and driven. Manager capable of maximizing profits through a motivational team and customer service.
• Above average knowledge of the market, competitors, suppliers and Gauteng steel & tube customer base.
• Excellent computer skills and ability to use data and numbers to identify opportunities and weaknesses.
• Balance between selling and back office issues.
• Effective implementation of systems & procedures and adherence to group policies.
• Good communication of progress, plans, results and reporting both up and down up the line.
• Effective debtor management.
• Above average inventory management, buying, replenishment, warehousing, stock aging, suppliers and security of stock.
• Experience in distribution, transport and warehousing.
