Branch Manager
Durban-Pinetown
Key responsibility
• Hands on management of operations and administration at the Durban depot, including the PR, IR and HR functions, to ensure the efficient and profitable execution of the company’s contracts with its customers in the KZN, in line with the company’s quality standards.
Core responsibilities include:
• Initiate and develop a branch structure to accommodate operational requirements
• Hands on management of daily operations
o Vehicle delivery tracking systems
o Operational reports
o Convoy planning
o Driver requirements
o En-route driver communications
o Issuing of budgets
o Inter-branch communications
o Business processes
o Customer relations
o Quality standards
• People management
o Six administration and operations staff
o Up to 30 long distance drivers
• Disciplinary processes
• Manage branch administration
o Petty cash (Large amounts)
o Pilot vehicles
o Health & safety
o Job cards
o Head office reporting
• Create and maintain depot process manuals
Qualifications and skills required:
• Relevant tertiary qualification
• Experience in a logistics or operational environment in a managerial position
• Sound knowledge of labour relations act and practices
• Completely conversant with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Process mapping and documenting
• Excellent communication and presentation skills at all levels, verbal and written
• Able to work outside normal working hours
• Must be prepared to travel
Transport: Must have own reliable transport
