BROAD PURPOSE OF JOB:

1. To assume marketing responsibility for the analgesic portfolio of brands, with the objective of maximising sales and profit potential for each
brand.
2. To propose and initiate improvements to meet changing market needs.
3. To identify, in conjunction with the other members of the Sales & Marketing team, new business opportunities within the SA Pharmaceutical
market.
4. To be the champion for the analgesic brands under his/her control.

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and implement marketing strategy for the analgesic brands.
• Produce and monitor the implementation of annual tactical brand plans.
• Develop annual and five year sales projections for each individual brand.
• Gather continuous intelligence on each brand’s performance, competitors and customer attitudes.
• In conjunction with all key internal stakeholders initiate and monitor projects concerning brands and therapy areas under your responsibility.
• In conjunction with Sales & Marketing management teams initiate and develop promotional materials from copy writing to production,
present the material and its use at Sales & Marketing meetings, and continuously appraise the material’s effectiveness.
• Provide specific marketing information on therapeutic areas/products as required for training courses.
• Develop and maintain contact with sales people and key customers through regular field contact.
• Expected frequency of work in the field is at least one full day a month.
• To be fully conversant with all sales databases and market research tools available.
• To proactively maintain and update market knowledge with regard to both competitors and the market environment.
• Maintain full accountability for the correct and effective management of all budgets associated with your product/products.
• Identify and coordinate and manage all events where company will have the opportunity for corporate or brand exposure.
• Ensure adherence and creation, maintenance and regular updates of all SOP’s relating to marketing activities, such as events, congresses,
promotional meetings, CME meeting etc.
• Provide specific marketing information on therapeutic areas/products as required for training courses, Sales & Marketing meetings and
agency briefs.
• Develop and maintain contact with sales people and key customers through regular field contact.
• In aspects of the position ensure compliance has been met.

• Ability to build relationships with various customers and key stakeholders: Clicks and Dis-chem, MHC, hospital groups etc
