Our client is searching for Business Analysts for their Cape Town office
Key Performance Areas:
Enterprise analysis
• Conduct workshops with the business to gather detailed user requirements following a standard development methodology
• Monitor and improve the efficiency of business processes as well as collect and interpret data regarding existing processes
• Continuously keep up to date with technical as well as industry sector developments and investigate alternative business solutions
• Reduce manual tasks and direct costs as well as provide efficiencies through use of technology
• Ensure that budgets are adhered to and deadlines are met accordingly to minimize cost

Requirements analysis:
• Interpret business processes into user interaction flows and screen layouts

Solution assessment and validation:
• Identify options for potential solutions and assess them for both technical and business suitability

Elicitation:
Work with stakeholders to help them understand their requirements within the scope of a project this will include the following: Brainstorming; analysing documents; running focus groups; analyzing system interfaces; interviewing; observing; prototyping; facilitating requirements workshops; reverse engineering existing systems and collecting input via surveys and questionnaires

Requirement management and communication:
• Responsible for translating requirements into highly specified project briefs and drawing up proposals for modified or replacement systems and then presentation thereof to relevant parties

Business analysis planning and monitoring:
• Work closely together with programmers and a variety of end-users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction
• Oversee the implementation of the new system(s)
• Continuously ensure that tasks and projects are completed within deadlines and that any rework is limited
• Responsible for the compilation and distribution of status reports to relevant parties

Testing:
• Drawing-up testing schedules for the complete systems

Training:
Providing of training to users of the new systems

Requirements:
• BSc / BCom / IT Degree or a related degree with a BA qualification and/or accreditation
• 3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar field with exposure to the financial services industry
• Excellent knowledge in the development and implementation of standards, procedures and guidelines to support operational processes
• Good understanding of relational databases and web and client-server concepts
• Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
• Sound working knowledge skills with Microsoft Office Products, Microsoft Visio (or equivalent mapping / process tools) and Microsoft Project
• Excellent Excel, Word, Outlook & Power Point skills
• Background in UML Design, Microsoft .NET, Visual Basic and HTML would be advantageous

Salary: Market related
