Primary objectives of the position

Our company has embarked on an exciting journey that will see the reimplementation of our current SAP ERP system on the SAP S/4 HANA platform through a project named Programme Sky. The purpose of the Business Architect role is to provide the required knowledge and expertise in a specific subject(s) and business area(s) for the programme. The main responsibility of the Business Architect will be to ensure that the facts and details used within the programme (or its constituent projects) are correct so that the deliverables produced by the programme meet the needs of the business stakeholders, legislation, policies, standards and best practices.

Key responsibilities

The key responsibilities of the Business Architect include:

Accurately represent the business unit(s) requirements to the programme team and ensure it is appropriately understood;
Identify, consult and/or involve business subject matter experts from other business divisions and entities to ensure the information provided to the programme is representative of the entire organisation’s requirements;
Support the definition of processes and policies, supply business rules and procedures, and communicate the contexts in which the rules, processes and policies are applied;
Validate the requirements that describe the processes and services that the programme will produce;
Evaluate and assess overall effectiveness and quality of programme deliverables;
Provide input for the design and development of test cases and scenarios, and validate executed test results, where required;
Provide input into and/or create and execute user documentation and training material;
Test the products(s) or services(s) towards the end of iterative build phases through user acceptance testing, using and evaluating it for accuracy and usability, and providing feedback to the programme team;
Guide team members on the programme to ensure the content of deliverables is accurate;
Contribute to and enable cross-functional integration of programme deliverables, where required;
Resolve any issues relevant to programme deliverables that involves or impacts their area of expertise;
Provide (or obtain) approval for changes to rules, processes and policies;
Participate in programme (or project) decision-making, relevant to function(s) that he/she is responsible for;
Participate in programme (or project) risk and issue management, where required;
Keep the representative Steering Committee member(s) up to date on the programme;
Regularly take information about the programme back to the business unit(s).
Required Experience

Extensive knowledge and expertise in the functional area/s advertised;
Solid knowledge of Pioneer Foods business processes;
SAP experience;
Personal Skills

Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral;
Ability to liaise with Executive Stakeholders;
Strong influencing and negotiation skills;
Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships;
Flexible and adaptable, able to work in ambiguous situations;
Resilient and tenacious with a propensity to persevere.
