BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – COMPONENTS – MONTAGUE GARDENS
IT DISTRIBUTION - START ASAP

Reporting to the Sales Manager, the successful candidate will be based in Cape Town and will be responsible for the following:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Knowledge
Knowledge around computers and their components a necessity
Understanding and continuous development on product knowledge
Provide relevant product training internally.
Provide reports and target tracking information as required
Engage with all relevant parties and subsidiary companies
Understand and implement company strategy and policies in alignment with product
Product support (PDF Spec Sheets, Web Info, Sales Support, Customer Support-Systems Integrators)
Product pricing
Manage the profitability of products
Assist sales staff with quotations
Provide pre-sales and post-sales support to sales staff
Ensure all resources are aligned
Training
Stay constantly updated with all developments and trends in the IT component market
Understand technology roadmaps
Logistical knowledge on shipping methods and terms
Assist with product codes, pricelists on system and costing
Attend weekly sales meetings and assist in resolving stock issues
Manage stock efficiently
Drive active and aging stock
Assist the logistics and warehouse teams with vendor recalls
Understand the logistical process
Process sales orders and purchase orders on ERP system
Assist in order managing process to maintain service and stock levels.
Build and maintain internal and external relationships
Manage rebates and incentives from suppliers
Liaise with suppliers for promotional funds and materials
Maintain relationships with customers to understand their requirements and incorporate into the stock forecasting

REQUIREMENTS
Matric/Grade 12 with a Sales & Marketing degree/diploma and/or IT qualification will be advantageous
Chipset knowledge would be an advantage
Project Management experience
Experience within the IT industry is essential
Must understand the IT market and the specific needs around the different market segments (sub-distributors, select resellers, resellers and end-users)
Computer literate in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint is essential
Spread-sheet knowledge in drawing up and utilizing reports (stock management, product reordering, ageing stock etc.)
Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers as well as have a grasp of the different cultures
Ability to learn new products
