Our client has been developing bakery solutions for food service providers, retailers, and bakers for 30 years and have presence in 20 countries around the world. On offer is an exciting opportunity to join their dynamic team in this newly created role with a specific view to leading and developing the Sub Sahara Africa (SSA) B2B bakery market activity. As leaders in the European Bakery business, our client delivers global bakery solutions with their high quality bread, viennoiseries, pâtisseries and snack products to premium customers in the food service and retail markets worldwide.

Key responsibilities include:
• implementing the client’s commercial strategy in SSA
• identifying business opportunities and build relationships with key customers
• developing a sales network in food service and retail bakery markets to cover the territory
• developing a channel management approach with added value customer solutions

Key requirements:
• matric, ideally with a commercial tertiary qualification
• at least 5+ years strong commercial B2B experience gained in the Food and Beverage industry in South Africa, preferably in frozen bakery products or similar cold chain products
• a proven track record of capturing and retaining new business in retail/ food services is essential
• a sound understanding of food service and retail markets in Sub Sahara Africa
• fluency in English with French an advantage
• able and willing to work from Cape Town
• willing to travel both nationally and internationally with a strong focus on Africa’s main growth markets
