BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST
Our client is a reputable player in the engineering domain, having successfully delivered a number of varied engineering projects to clients across sectors including energy, food and beverages, pharmaceuticals and resources.
They are offering an enriching career opportunity to a dynamic and ambitious Business Development (marketing and sales) professional for their base in Germiston, Johannesburg.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
• A diploma or degree in Marketing or related disciplines.
• Two (2) years experience in a marketing/sales environment. Previous exposure in the EPCM (Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management), processing plants and/or construction environments is an advantage.
• A valid drivers license is a prerequisite, while own vehicle is an added advantage.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
• Identifies trendsetter ideas by researching industries and markets and integrating insights into the marketing strategies and plans.
• Identifies or proposes potential business opportunities and deals by generating, presenting and discussing proposals with potential clients and partners.
• Collaborates with company management to prepare and implement the company’s marketing and business development strategy and plan for meeting goals.
• Screens potential business deals by analysing market strategies, deal requirements, potential and financials; evaluating options and resolving internal priorities.
• Drives the sales process from inquiry/RFP (Request for Proposal) coordination through “closing the deal”.
• Develops new and nurtures existing customer relationships.
• Develops and maintains relationships with major equipment vendors and process technology providers.
• Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements, developing and negotiating contracts, integrating contract requirements with business operations.
• Interfaces with existing strategic customers to solidify mutual expectations of performance and growth.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organisations.
• Ensures that all communication with customers is in accordance with the company’s standards and that it is correct in content and format.
• Solicits customer feedback from project proposal through execution phases.
• Sets budgets for business development initiatives.
• Identifies cost saving and optimisation opportunities.
