Business Intelligence & Data Analyst Manager position available at reputable company in managed healthcare industry.

The Business Intelligence & Data Analyst Manager will lead and perform complex analysis in
an evolving data environment.

Main Responsibilities:
Develop or apply mathematical or statistical theory and methods to collect, organize, interpret, and summarize numerical data to provide usable information
Compile and compute data according to statistical formulas for use in statistical studies.
May perform actuarial computations and compile charts and graphs for use by actuaries.
Formulate and apply mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods to develop and
interpret information that assists management with decision making, policy formulation, or other managerial functions.
May collect and analyze data and develop decision support software, service, or products. May develop and supply optimal time, cost, or logistics networks for program evaluation, review, or implementation.
Other responsibilities:

Complete projects that require data mining, analysis and presentation
Identify relevant trends, do follow-up analysis, prepare visualizations
Focus on solutions, dive into projects, quickly identify drivers in the data
Develop dashboards to track remediation of issues
Unfunded post-employment health care liability valuation calculations
Health care consulting to clients
Medical Scheme comparisons and benchmarking reports for clients
The accurate and timely valuation, reporting, analysis and presentation of group risk profits
Analysis of the distribution channel performance and the in-force book in order to identify areas of opportunity and leverage
Development of efficient data management systems for analysis and reporting
Collecting, analysing and interpreting data

Candidate Requirements:
In addition to very strong technical skills, this position will have superb business process analysis and interpersonal skills. The ability to extract and analyze data, patterns, and related trends are needed, with the subsequent ability to synthesize the data into information consumable by senior business decision-makers.

Qualifications required:

BCom or BSc Insurance Science, Mathematical Statistics or equivalent Honours Degree
Experience:

Data analysis, processing and reporting
5+ years experience
Healthcare environment and processes
Mathematical/ Statistical Principles
Business Processes

Skills Required:

Programming in Visual Basic for Applications or SQL
Advanced Excel programming
Ms Word, Ms Access, Ms PowerPoint
Internet Proplanner
Understanding of medical scheme principles, practices and procedures
Good spreadsheet and database skills
Information-gathering skills
Investigative skills
Programming skills
Strong mathematical skills (advanced)

Salary:
R 490k - R 520k ctc per annum
