Our client based in Houghton is currently seeking to recruit a Business Intelligent Specialist.

Experience & Qualifications:

• Matric
• IT related qualification
• Microsoft BI training and certification
• A minimum of five years’ experience with Microsoft SQL technology
• Life insurance industry background will be advantageous
• Skilled in developing T-SQL queries, views, functions and stored procedures in Microsoft SQL 2008/2012/2014
• Exposure to relational database design
• Skilled in Data warehouse designs
• Solid knowledge and working experience with dimensional modelling (Theory and practices)
• Skilled in developing SSIS packages
• Skilled in developing reports in Visual Studio
• Skilled in developing Analysis Services cubes.
• Skilled with PowerView and Power pivot

Core Tasks

Reporting

• Design report models/tables for reports
• Design Power view models
• Design & create power pivots

SSAS

• Maintenance of existing cubes
• Designing and implementing of SSAS cubes
• OLAP cubes
• Tabular cubes

Identify and fix performance issues within:

• Data warehouse queries/stored procedures/functions
• SSAS cubes. (Code and environment setup for SSAS)
• SSRS

Deployments

• Create and maintain deployment procedures
• Deploy BI developers/Junior BI Developers code. (SSRS/SSAS & T-SQL)
• Code reviews must be done on team member’s code before deployments.

Standards

• Create standards and procedures within the BI eco-system.

Innovation

• Must be able to look at new methods/toolsets to enhance the eco-system.

Training and up-skilling

• Must be able to train and up-skill Junior BI Developers in the team.
