A vacancy exists in the Buildings and Structures Sector for a Business Unit Leader: Structural Services to commence duties in the Msunduzi (Pietermaritzburg) office as soon as possible

Main responsibilities

• Provision of strategic guidance for the structural service line


• Responsible for sound financial management of the service line


• Business development responsibilities


• Financial, Quality and Utilization management of the team in accordance with the relevant company procedures


• Training and mentoring of young engineers and technicians


• Approve designs and documentation for the technical unit


• Overseeing projects from inception to close-out


• Be responsible for technical management of structural designs done by the region


• Preparation of structural designs and specifications


• Contract administration, construction monitoring and liaison with project team


• Manage HR related functions in conjunction with the HR department

Minimum qualifications, skills, experience

• BSc Civil Engineering degree 


• Pr Eng registration with ECSA,


• Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in the field of building services  of which 2 must be in management


• Project management experience


• Knowledge of building and construction regulations


• Business Development experience is essential
