We are looking for a bookkeeper for the Cape Town Fish Market Head Office situated in Table View, Cape Town.
The successful candidate must have good communication skills and effective time management.
Key responsibilities
· Processing on Pastel / Pilot to Trail Balance / Balance Sheet and Income statement
· Bank Reconciliations
· Daily capturing of invoices (debtors & suppliers)
· Debtors and Creditor processing and reconciliation
· Petty cash, Credit cards
· Maintenance of Fixed asset registers
· Intercompany recharges and reconciliation
· Loading payments, keeping track of bank balances
· Completion of Statutory Returns (VAT, PAYE, PROVISIONAL TAX and or any
other) as well as the calculation thereof.
· Inventory basic control knowledge
Reporting level:
Candidate will report directly to the senior accountant.
Minimum requirements
· Diploma in Accounting
· 3 years accounting or audit experience (advantageous)
· Advanced Pastel knowledge
· Pilot knowledge
· Highly computer literate including Outlook, Word and Excel
· Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
· Attention to detail
· Ability to work with little supervision
· Ability to prioritize and multi-task
· Willingness to learn and develop
· Able to work under pressure and to deadlines
