The company’s division is responsible for expanding their footprint in India, the rest of Africa and other emerging countries focussing on life insurance, medical insurance, short-term insurance and investment.

You will, as an executive committee member, report directly to the CEO.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications:
• CA(SA) or Actuary
• Successful completion of a relevant Executive Development Program will be advantageous

Experience & Knowledge:
• 10 to15 years experience in Financial service industry on senior management level
• Proven track record of managing a multi-disciplined team (finance, risk management and/or actuarial)
• Ability to contribute to business decision-making at a strategic level
• Good and proven business acumen
• Project management principles and previous participation and deal making will be advantages
• Statutory financial reporting
• Influencing skills
• Strategic Decision Making

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities will include amongst other the following:

Strategy implementation, support and development
• Participate in development and execution of strategy
• Prioritise financial and actuarial resources and activities
• Influence sound decision-making
Governance
• Sound governance principles per group standards and guidelines
• Effective compliance and risk management
• Effective internal/external audit execution
• Oversight of company secretarial function

Management and Statutory Reporting
• Quality and adequacy of management reporting
• Identify trends, red flags and meaningful interpretation of management reports
• Drive budgets, forecasts and sensitivity analysis

Profitability Management
• Understand income, expenses and relationships, including industry and competitor trends
• Oversight of product profitability throughout cluster
• Focused cost management
• Business case evaluation
• Ensure effective utilization of Capital

Actuarial
• Oversight and governance of Group’s Actuarial function
• Valuations and reporting for life and non-life
• Drive RoGEV measurement and target setting
