What are the key responsibilities of the position?Working with the Executive Chef and the kitchen team to maintain high standards in the quality of food both as to its preparation and its presentationPreparation of a whole range of food, working in all areas of the kitchenAssist the Executive Chef to check the completeness of all suppliers’ deliveries and the correctness of their invoicesHelp with new menu ideas and menu design, being aware of current food trends with regard to presentation and styleEnsuring that the kitchen is left clean and tidy at all timesEnsuring that all food is correctly wrapped, labelled and put in fridge after prep/service What type of experience do we require?3 years experience in a similar 5 star environment Which qualifications will secure this position?Formal Culinary Qualification from a recognised establishmentWhat skills / behaviours are required?Passion for cooking and ambition to improve your skillsAble to work in all areas of the kitchen - Cold Kitchen, Pastry, Meat ,Fish and SaucesGood knife skillsGood wine knowledge, able to understand food & wine pairingBasic knowledge of HACCP and HygieneExcellent communication skillsEffective listening skillsExcellent interpersonal skills – may have to interact with guestsStrong organisational skills - Ability to plan, coordinate, execute and follow upAbility to work alone and as part of a teamExcellent time management skills and able to multi-taskSelf-motivatedSophisticated, mature and hardworkingAccuracy and speed in executing assigned tasksMust be of sober habits Why should you apply for this position?Work in an internationally recognised venue preparing fine dining cuisine for discerning local and international guests, as well as be part of a driven and dynamic team.
