South AfricaĆ¢??s largest distributor of premium machines, tools Ć¢?? including blades and cutters; edging and glue, seeks a CFO to fulfil a hands-on financial management function overseeing a finance team and reporting upwardly into the COO.

Manage full financial function (creditors, cash, financial accounting and payroll):

  • Prepare and submit ENX reporting
  • Review and address internal and external audit queries
  • Review and prepare monthly management accounts
  • Review monthly journals and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Review month local and foreign supplier payments
  • Book and release FEC’s for foreign payments
  • Prepare and submit weekly cash flow forecast
  • Attend weekly equipment cash flow meetings
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls
  • Prepare and present quarterly results at audit committee meetings
  • Prepare and present annual budget
  • Review payroll file and release wages and salary payments
  • Review and approve monthly commissions
  • Approve receipting of equipment deals
  • Organise funding for deals when required
  • Approve admin related supplier invoices
  • Prepare leave and bonus provision for balance sheet recons
  • Prepare equipment commission accrual for balance sheet recons
  • Review income statement per branch month to ensure correct allocations
  • Analyse monthly margins

Credit Department:       

  • Perform bi-weekly 90 days and older debtor review with all branches
  • Ensure adherence to credit policy
  • Approve changes to credit terms and limits
  • Approve credit notes
  • Prepare payment schedule and calculate interest portion for finance deals

Manage IT function:

  • Review outstanding calls at month-end
  • Analyse calls and identify recurring user and system issues
  • Implement new software where required
  • Ensure internal and external IT audit issues are resolved
  • Attend IT steercom meetings
  • Ensure IT steercom open items are addressed

Distribution and stores:

  • Ensure controls are adhered too
  • Organise bi-annually stock counts
  • Approve all stock adjustments
  • Ensure all stock count documentation are properly filed and approved

People skills:

  • Develop a culture where duties are performed with care and accuracy

  • Implement performance contracts with KPI’s for all finance staff and review on a quarterly basis
