SUMMARY

Our client a passionate South African Retailer is looking to employ a Chief Internal Auditor. You will be in a leadership position, managing a team, internationally. You will be responsible for managing the group’s internal audit function. You will be a trusted advisor who brings a disciplined approach to evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, governance processes and control.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Evaluating the governance processes including ethics, performing objective assessments of the effectiveness of risk management and the internal control framework
Systematically analyse and evaluate business processes and associated controls
Provide an overall statement annually as to the effectiveness of the company’s governance, risk management and control processes, and provide the source of information
Ensuring that annual allocation of internal audit resources to the different possible activities based on approved risk-based internal audit plans
Reviewing the audit plans on an ongoing basis against the company’s risk profile and proposing adaptions to the audit committee for approval
Ensuring the company is in line with the requirements of the King’s recommendations

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Must be a Qualified CA SA and Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
Must have 10 – 12 years’ experience in a similar role
Must have 10 years’ experience in leading teams
Must be proficient in international accounting standards
