Our client with its operations in Zambia would like to interview candidates for the position of Chief Processing Officer. The incumbent will report directly to the COO and will assume direct responsibility and accountability for the total metallurgical operations.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Applicable bachelors degree in metallurgy or chemical engineering
• At least 10 years experience in a senior position in mining
• Expert practical knowledge and experience in:
o Smelters
o Concentrators
o SX plants
o Refining
• Responsibility for the planning leading and organizing of the total metallurgical operations
• Proven managerial experience within a mining processing environment

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage the overall metallurgical operations
• Develop and manage metallurgical operations and work practices that maximize operational efficiencies;
• Improve plant operating performance; reduce waste and delays; promote cost reductions; and achieve a high level of operating efficiency;
• Evaluate current and potential processing methods;
• Monitor and analyze key metallurgical performance indicators of process operations and recommend corrective actions to the operations team;
• Work within cross-functional teams and coach, mentor supervise and lead direct reports;
• Maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
