Minimum Requirements:

• B Tech in Safety Management
• COMSOC 1& 2 / SAMTRAC / SHEMTRAC or similar
• Blasting Certificate for scheduled mines will be advantageous
• At least 5 years’ experience in Safety Management in the Mining Industry, especially in an underground mine
• Valid driver’s license

Added advantage:

• Registered as Safety Professional by IoSM

Other Skills/Competencies:

• Professional knowledge of Safety aspects with experience in integrated HSE management systems in a mining environment.
• Good written and verbal communications skills in English and the ability to interact at all levels both internally and externally
• Computer literate
• Meet the requirements of the appointment of Chief Safety Officer in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act
