Purpose of the Role:
To provide a high standard of client service to a range of large, sophisticated institutional asset owners which include pension and provident funds, medical aids and trusts.
Deliverables will range from day-to-day managing of client expectations, coordinating delivery of various services to clients, continuous monitoring of the client’s portfolio and regular client communication through report-back presentations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• As primary client contact take responsibility for ensuring delivery of excellent client service and building/maintaining existing client relationships

• Responsible for all client specific administration, including maintaining compliance records, preparing meeting deliverables, completion of time sheets and general maintenance of CRM records

• Manage onboarding and implementation processes with new and existing clients, including contracting with clients and their service providers

• Manage collation and recording of client documentation on investment strategies, investment manager research, investment policy statements and other ad-hoc documents as may be required by the client

• Manage revision and distribution of client reports produced on a regular basis by different specialist teams within the company

• Manage collation of presentations for client report back meetings from different specialist teams within the company

• Present at client feedback meetings in terms of portfolio performance and risk reports and any other related matters

• Strong ethics, integrity, doing the “right” thing for the ultimate beneficiary – the members of pension funds

• Have a broad understanding of general investments and more specifically the investment process relating to asset owners ranging from portfolio construction to risk and performance reporting and also including other admin related matters


Qualifications:
• Relevant Degree

Skills/Competencies and experience:
• Investment Science, Quants, Economics, Actuarial experience may be useful but not necessary

• Minimum of 3 to 5 years total in the investment / asset management industry.
For example: portfolio structuring / asset allocation / portfolio management background

• Investment advice to Private/Institutional clients

• Worked for another consultant / investment manager / stockbroker / bank

• A good understanding of the financial markets and the ability to communicate the latest developments in these

• Client centric attitude

• Ability to market, network and cross sell solutions

• Quantitative ability in terms of performance and risk calculations

• Sound and broad technical investment knowledge (ideally from a quants or actuarial background)

• Excellent project management and administration skills

• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)

• Pro-active approach to managing own and others’ deadlines

• Detailed focused

• Presentation skills
