JOB PURPOSE STATEMENT: â?¢ Designs, develops and implements defined pay and benefit programmes for assigned countries that are cost effective & legal and support the evolving business needs whilst reflecting local market practices.

  • Provides advice to local management and employees on any Comp & Ben related issue or business opportunities including full responsibility for maintaining the internal equity and external market relativity’s of the job evaluation processes and grading.

 

JOB SIZE:

  • Involvement with multiple countries within in Southern Africa (ZA, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Malawi, Swaziland, Mozambique)
  • Involvement in multiple legal entities
  • Experience in working in a unionised environment
  • Adaptable to different legislation & cultural expectations
  • Impacts payroll costs (salary & benefits) for assigned countries

 

 

Requirements:

3 – 5 Years minimum hands on experience; including experience in:

  • Pay review
  • Management of rewards
  • Salary corrections
  • Experience in commissioning surveys/ market benchmarking
  • Must Conversant with MS Excel – V-LOOKUP, Pivot tables etc, & strong on data analytics
  • Good understanding of the South Africa market and exposure to compensation & benefits in other SSA countries would be a plus.
  • Vendor management experience
  • Experience in administering and managing benefits like Medical aid
  • Good command of written & verbal English
  • Good knowledge of job evaluation methodologies with experience of using an analytical evaluation system to evaluate positions within a defined function or level
  • Good p.c. skills/ able to manipulate complex numerical & qualitative data
  • Good understanding of the Courier business environment advantageous
  • Experience of implementing legal & cost effective pay & benefit programmes that support the business goals
  • Excellent planning & organising skills with experience of co-ordinating local projects/ programmes
  • Experience of analysing market/business information with a potential pay & benefits impact
  • Experience of developing legal & cost effective solutions to compensation & benefit related issues
  • Good knowledge of benchmarking practices & best market sources for defined areas of C & B data
  • Experience of building an effective network of internal business contacts
  • Basic knowledge of TCN/ICT/ex-pat programmes
  • Basic understanding of motivational theory and the principles underpinning pay for performance programmes
