Role summary

We are seeking a Compliance Assistant to support the South African compliance function.

Key responsibilities
The brief description outlined above will involve the following specific duties:
? Assist in ensuring compliance of the regulated entities in South Africa with current laws, regulations, guidance notes and supervisory requirements and provisions;
? Conduct research and provide general administrative support services when required;
? Provide assistance with the development, implementation and maintenance of compliance documents, policies and procedures.
? Stay informed of applicable legislation, industry developments and internal policies and procedures;
? Assist with analysing proposed new legislation;
? Assist with sampling and monitoring in line with compliance monitoring plans in place for the regulated entities;
? Assist the Compliance Department with the implementation and enforcement of SANNE Group’s compliance strategy;
? Assist with the preparation of compliance training material, the roll-out of assessments and the preparation of compliance communications.

Skills / experience required
Applicants will need to be in possession of the following:
? Applicable qualification or degree;
? High level of computer literacy and working knowledge of Microsoft and Office applications;
? Knowledge of the financial services industry will be advantageous;
? Communication - Convey information in a clear, concise, and logical manner;
? Research - Research statutes, regulations and other information and provide concise relevant summaries to the Compliance Department;
? Time Management and Organization - Manage time and workloads. A strong work ethic. The ability to juggle competing priorities. Work in an organized manner using efficient filing and data storage techniques; and
? Teamwork - Collaborate with others to reach a common goal and coordinating and sharing information and knowledge. Cultivate relationships with colleagues, staff, clients, experts, vendors and others.
