Our client is looking for a Sales Engineer to join the Compression Sales department in Cape Town.

Reports to: Head of Compression Sales

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

To sell refrigeration equipment to the market by performing the following duties:

• Build, grow and maintain relationships with Contractors and Consulting Engineers
• Call on management representatives such as engineers, project managers, or other professional and technical personnel at commercial, industrial, and other establishments to market to prospective clients the desirability and practicability of products or services offered by ourselves
• Reviews customer documents to develop and prepare cost estimates or detailed proposals of capital equipment or parts to satisfy customer requirements
• Draws up or propose changes in equipment, processes, or use of materials or services which would result in cost reduction or improvement in operations
• Provides technical services to clients relating to use, operation, and maintenance of equipment
• Enter orders into system, track them and confirm delivery dates and scope of supply to customers
• Check availability of components and initialize procurement process if necessary
• Liaise with customer regarding delivery and/or transport arrangements
• Provide Manager with market data and customer feedback
  • Assist with credit checks on customers and invoicing
  • Assist with updating price lists and customer data basis
  • Produce new sales material and liaise with advertising agencies
  • Assist procurement department with shipping issues

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of National Higher Diploma in Mechanical engineering with ideally at least 5 years’ experience in a same or similar environment
• The candidate must be driven regarding service delivery and building strong customer relationships
• Computer literate, experienced in MS Excel, Word and Outlook
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must be willing to travel, locally and internationally
