This a position for a a large multidisciplinary Construction company who have a position for a Laboratory manager for the Concrete structures division.
Must have a background in concrete development and would have preferably worked on large construction sites like the soccer world cup stadiums and the like.

Laboratory Manager/Concrete Technologist

The suitable candidate must comply with the following:-

Requirements:-
• Degree/diploma in Concrete or similar (ACT) ;
• A minimum of 4 years hands-on experience on a construction site or in a concrete laboratory
• Strong critical thinking and analytical skills;
• Good understanding of laboratory testing of concrete
• Good verbal and written communication skills as well as presentation skills;
• Preferably affiliated and in good standing with the CSSA(Concrete Society of South Africa) or similar institution
• Computer literate
• Valid driver’s licence and must be prepared to travel to projects on a regular basis.

Responsibilities:-
• Overall responsibility for Group laboratory with research and development goals pertaining to concrete
• Liaison with all stakeholders, including management and representatives of the client;
• Monthly updates of R&D and site testing of concrete.
• Internal audits at all sites;
• Ensure QA/QC systems and related requirements are controlled;
• Development and implementation of Group initiatives into action plans;
• Do all laboratory incident investigations;
• Train and mentor engineers on the various sites;
• Attend to all other actions that may be CCE related.
