Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or diploma in a skilled trade (electrician, carpenter etc.)
• 10 years plus experience in civils, fiber optic splicing, assembly and testing.
• Previous experience as construction foreman
• Competence in using standard fiber optic preparation and splicing equipment and OTDR’S
• Must be Microsoft proficient
• Ability to lift heavy equipment, climb poles and crawl into small spaces.
• General knowledge of electrical processes and familiarity with the equipment and tools used in the field.

Key responsibilities include inter alia – KPA’s

• Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans
• Produce schedules and monitor attendance of crew
• Allocate general and daily responsibilities
• Supervise and train workers and tradespeople
• Ensure manpower and resources are adequate
• Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met
• Supervise the use of machinery and equipment
• Resolve problems when they arise
• Report on progress to managers, engineers etc.
• Manages client satisfaction, commitment and expectations to high service levels and manages escalations adequately
• Responsible for accurate completion of all documentation pertaining to the project As-build files
• Ensure all sub-contractors and vendors comply with the companies specifications and that their performance are reviewed quarterly
• Monitor and ensure that there are Zero penalties from all accounts
• Must be skilled in the process of pulling Fiber cables, splicing and terminating, then testing them
• Must be able to work with specialize equipment like fusion splicers, OLTSs and OTDRs that require extensive knowledge of their operation and an understanding of how to interpret test results
• Following specific workmanship instructions, multitasking
• Must be receptive to changing priorities
• Lead and motivate the project team reporting to you
• Ensure that behavioral expectations of the Project team members are established
