JOB SUMMARY STATEMENT: To Lead and exercise control over the project activities related to the specific contract and institute direction, initiatives and liaison with Engineering activities

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):
• Execute the site works from start until completion in accordance with agreed contract conditions and company policies
• Responsible for implementation and roll-out of project
• Responsible for the staffing requirements of the project. Ensure proper People and Resource management initiatives by identifying and allocating the specific manpower requirements for each contract
• Ensure effective Plant, Equipment and materials management interventions in line with contractual requirements with site management team
• Ensure proper Sub-contractor Management and QS to be in control of sub-contractors
• Basic understanding of the tender processes
• Ensure Cost control and Management
• Understand and implement the project costing system in accordance with Company procedures and accepted financial principles
• Apply extensive understanding of the OHS Act and its applicability in the Industry
• Ensure adherence to SHEQ policies and procedures
• Responsible for the management of project resources. Ensure that there is proper contract planning and site establishment, including accommodation, stores, water, sewer, telephone, electrical, site security, etc.
• To achieve key targets and deadlines
• Liaise with all stakeholders to achieve maximum outputs
• Carry out work related instructions from Project Manager
• Must be able to asses and estimate additional work
• Assist with compilation of monthly progress Claims
• Attend meetings and give constructive input
• Timeously completion of project within allocated budget as per contract specifications
• Resolution of minor HR/IR issues
• Ensure that all necessary records are kept
• Monthly reporting to Project Manager and stakeholders. Collation and production of project status reports (internally and externally)
• Must have the ability to work under pressure
• Will be required to do work from time to time that is outside of the job description and detailed above

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• Grade 12, with related trade qualification
• BSc or National Higher Diploma or Equivalent in Mechanical Engineering would be an added advantage
• Professional registration with SACPCMP and added advantage
EXPERIENCE:
• 8-10 years’ experience in Site Management – Mechanical , Piping and Petrochemical environment
• MS Office suites
• Fully Computer Literate
