VACANCY CONSUMER MANAGER: ROUTE TO MARKET Mass Retail Krugersdorp Grade: D3
The position of Manager: Route to Market has arisen within our Consumer Business Unit, based at Krugersdorp. This position will report to the Head: Consumer Business Unit. Preference will be granted to Employment Equity candidates.
Purpose
To understand and interpret the consumer route to market segment, develop and implement strategies to align marketing, sales and distribution to deliver the right products to the right point of sales at the right time to drive profitable growth across Pan Africa.
Key Performance Areas
Develop understanding of market characteristics, expected supply/demand evolution and competition evolution to drive product architecture and service offering
Develop and implement a long term plan and strategy for development of the category
Define product requirements that address market opportunities and develop market leading offering and solution architecture
Lead category range, pricing and promotions across customer channels
Drive RTM plans, training for internal & external customer to achieve growth plans
Jointly develop key accounts customer plans with Country sales managers
Grow and develop existing portfolio of key accounts, together with generating new business
Coordinate sales and marketing to agree and execute RTM model in the assigned territory
Provide RSMs and Brand Manager with strategic customer focused insights regarding the product and category
Development of a RTM centre of excellence for RTM and on-going development of distributor management, processes and tools and business plans to continuously optimise performance.
Skill, Knowledge and Experience Requirements
Minimum of 7-9 years previous experience in Account Management or Category Management
Strong Account Management, communication and relationship building skills
Strong influence, presentation, project management, and analytical skills with a sense of urgency
Must have the ability to drive and deliver business performance and success through people
Be client and customer focused, accustomed to working within a matrix reporting organization
Excellent analytical and complex interrogation skills of data, with the ability to present multifaceted
information in a simple way to various levels of the organisation.
Retail hardware / paint experience esential
Financial acumen and numerically sound with the ability to think strategically and link information
in a broader context.
Thorough understanding of retail insights
Readiness to travel throughout African continent
