• Control and utilise available manpower resources of the Warehouse Control Tower by directing the continuous work flow to Control Tower
personnel as appropriate to ensure the optimum working capacity of the section.
• Continuously analyse and monitor trends with regards to outbound deficiencies, determining possible causes to develop and introduce
corrective action to meet delivery schedules.
• Continuously guide, supervise and control the execution of order completion, including service provider process supervision, non-standard
processing and Warehouse Planning to identify bottlenecks and other deviations and re-adjust activities to address challenges/ problem
areas in order to meet service level targets.
• Develop reporting staff by the setting of work related objectives, appraising performance and behavior and where necessary, initiating /
providing specialist training so as to maximize the potential of individuals within the section to maintain high levels of productivity and
motivation
• Manage the Warehouse Control Tower workstations and equipment, planning / appropriating and procurement for future developments with
the assistance and support of Systems specialists.
• Determine and set appropriate KPI’s to monitor Control Tower operations. Implement corrective actions in conjunction with management in
affected areas to address deviations and ensure cut-off times are met. Present and report to DC Management on KPI achievement (daily,
weekly and monthly basis).
• Develop processes for Control Tower team to effectively deal with queries from internal and external customers
• Develop processes and procedures to ensure that the inventory stored in the Centurion distribution center is timeously and accurately
stored into correct storage locations and minimize the occurrence of “no bin” and “quarantine” materials.
• Develop processes to regulate and improve bin optimizations, inventory accuracy and stock adjustments
• Ensure strict adherence to Occupational Health, Safety & Environmental standards and procedures by members of staff.
• Participate in the setting of annual Distribution Centre budgets (overhead, capital and manpower)

ESSENTIAL:
• 3 year Degree / National Diploma in Logistics / Industrial Engineering or related discipline.
• 5 years’ experience in Warehousing, Material Handling and Inventory / Purchasing Management.
• Knowledge on SAP (Inventory Management System), SAP/ Logistics/ Purchasing systems.
• Inventory management/ materials handling and related planning principles and procedures.
• Warehouse planning experience.
• Production scheduling experience will be an advantage
• Good presentation and communication skills.
• Proven people management experience PREFERRED:
• Experience in the motor industry in the logistics or supply chain environment.
• Knowledge of Occupational Health, Safety & Environmental legislation and standards.
