Description: A manufacturer in the cosmetics industry requires a Research and Development Chemist to join their team. Key duties will include: Developing cutting edge skin care products to meet the demand of a growing global brand; conducting research into and developing skin care products from concept, through pilot plant testing, to launch; reformulation of existing product to improve stability, replacing raw materials; researching and testing of packaging materials and formats; stability testing, shelf life and travel testing of new and reformulated products; ensuring compliance to global regulatory standards as well as safety of existing and new formulations; assisting in skills development; compilation and updating of relevant documentation.
Key Requirements: A relevant Chemistry/Pharmaceutical degree and 3 to 5 years hands on formulation experience in skin care required. A Coschem diploma, packaging development and vitamins formulation experience will be an advantage.
Additional Requirements: Ability to work on several projects simultaneously with attention to detail and within time lines; continuous improvement focus, open to learning and self-development; team player; excellent communication skills; proficient with MS Office.
